About me
My name is Igor, and I am in my mid-40s. I was born in the North of Spain, a region that has shaped my profound appreciation for history, culture, and the art of teaching. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of living in different countries around the world, which has enriched both my personal and professional life, allowing me to experience diverse cultures and academic environments. This international exposure has fueled my desire to share the fascinating stories of Spain’s past and its vibrant cultural heritage with people from all walks of life.
My backgroud
I hold a PhD in History and a Master's in Education, which have given me a strong foundation in both historical knowledge and the art of effective teaching. Throughout my career, I have served as a lecturer in International Studies, as well as in Spanish History, Art, and Language, at prestigious universities in both Australia and Spain. These academic roles have allowed me to interact with students from different backgrounds, creating enriching cross-cultural dialogues and exchanges.
Additionally, I’ve had the honor of working within the Spanish National Museums Network, where I spent several years contributing to the preservation and promotion of Spain’s cultural and historical heritage. This experience deepened my understanding of the vital role that museums and cultural institutions play in educating the public and preserving the past.
My Passion
Now, I dedicate myself 100% to my true passion: teaching. I teach students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them unlock the richness of Spanish history, art, and culture. In addition to my academic work, I have collaborated with various institutions and private businesses, including Spanish film festivals, to promote the arts and culture of Spain globally. Through these collaborations, I strive to inspire a deeper appreciation for Spain’s remarkable cultural legacy and to make history come alive for diverse audiences.
My Methodology
My teaching methodology is rooted in recognizing and celebrating the uniqueness of each student. I believe in tailoring the learning process to fit the individual, rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. This means a rigorous commitment to quality education, where concepts are not only thoroughly understood but also deeply internalized. At the same time, I emphasize the importance of making the journey enjoyable, fostering curiosity, and maintaining a dynamic, engaging atmosphere. With me, you won’t just learn; you’ll truly master the material in a way that resonates and sticks.
